This looks really cool! And the video demos helped immensely.
Just one comment: You can write:
var selection = query.Where(x => x.a == b);
instead of
var selection = query.Where(x => x.a == a && x.b == b);
since it's guaranteed that there is no overlap between the groups of records
with x.a == a.
